Richard B. Cheney is an American businessman, public servant as well as a politician. Cheney, a well-known face in Washington politics, has served under four presidents from the US. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush announced the nomination of Cheney to be his vice president running partner in July of the year 2000. Bush cited Cheney's wisdom, judgment, and experience. Dick Cheney was a chief of staff to presidents. He also served on the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense and was a part of the nation in various capacities. Republicans and Democrats alike respect his honesty. Cheney claims he's an honest and discreet adviser for Bush within his administration. When he accepted the Republican vice presidential nomination Cheney stated that he looks at serving alongside an administration that will strive to get things done by engaging across the partisan divide and working with political opponents in good faith and common purpose. Richard Bruce Cheney, son of Richard Herbert Cheney & Marjorie Lauraine Dickey was born on January 30, 1941, in Lincoln Nebraska. When he was 13 years old Richard and his family moved across Nebraska, eventually moving to Casper where his dad was the Director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture local district for soil conservation.
