Katherine Heigl recently spoke out about growing up living in "a White bubble." The actress also discusses the impact that this realization has had on her parenting of adoptees who are multi-racial. In an interview, actress Katherine Heigl, who plays "Firefly Lane", as well as "Grey's Anatomy" actress shared her body didn't matter to her, however, after talking to her adoptive sister in South Korea about how society had treated them, she was conscious of the differences their lives were. In my interview, I inquired of Meg how she was treated while out in public, either with or without our parents, she said it was distinct. She replied, "Oh yeah, always!" Heigl admitted to her parents that she realized how naive she had been. Heigl admitted she became angry and felt that it was important to focus her anger on helping the adopted children she has. Sheigl's husband Josh Kelley and their son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr., 4, have been together for thirteen years. They adopted their daughter Nancy Leigh, 12, from South Korea in 2009 and Adalaide eight, who is Black, in 2012.
